Go Vols!
All is well in the world of Amy. Grades are all posted, and I got 2 A's and a B+. (Would have been nice to make straight A's but I'll take what I got.) Rachel came through surgery beautifully and is doing fantastic. I have just one more meeting with Dr. Kimble tomorrow morning and then I'm done with research until next semester. AND, the Vols won tonight!
The boys basketball team played Oklahoma State tonight at the GEC in Nashville, and I was there and it was fantastic! The referees were ignoring the Oklahoma State team and only fouling us for most of the game, but miraculously the score was tied with a minute left. At 20 seconds we got the ball and scored to stop the clock with 1.9 seconds left. So we're up by 2, and there's not quite 2 seconds left. Lots of timeouts later, Oklahoma State chucks the ball across the court and they throw for 3. (While traveling, but of course the refs don't call it.) So it's like - oh no, will they score and win - what's going to happen - this is so exciting!! And it shoots off the rim and we win the game!! I just love the Vols!
I also discovered 'Jacks Bar-B-Cue' in downtown Nashville tonight. We ate there before the game, apparantly it's world famous and I've never even heard of it. I have to say, it was very good. There was an autographed picture of Dolly Parton on the wall that said "Jacks Barbecue - y'all are the best!" You can always trust Dolly.
Good night for now, and have a lovely evening!
